Privacy Policy
What information SikhyaSetu collects, why, and the choices you have. No sign-up, no ads, and we never sell your data.
Last updated: 27 Sep 2026
This policy covers sikhyasetu.in. In short: you don't need an account to browse, we never ask for your name, phone number or address, there are no ads, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
1. Visit statistics (only if you accept)
We use Google Analytics to learn which pages are most useful. It uses cookies only after you press “Accept”. It records which pages were opened, which buttons were used (such as share, download and apply links), your approximate city, your device and browser type, and how you reached us. Google Analytics does not store your IP address.
If you haven't accepted, or you declined, no analytics cookies are set. Google may still receive a few basic signals without any identifier (for example, that a page was opened), used only to estimate totals. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
We use Google Analytics cookies to understand which pages help students most. No ads, and we never sell your data.
Cookies Google Analytics sets after you accept
| Name | What it does | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
_ga | A random number to count different visitors separately (not your name) | 2 years |
_ga_JGFVNFKRLB | Remembers your current visit | 2 years |
SikhyaSetu sets no other cookies for visitors. (A sign-in cookie is used only when our own editors sign in.)
2. “Was this helpful?” votes and “Report a mistake”
When you vote, we store only yes/no, the page and the time. When you report a mistake, we store the reason you picked and the message you wrote. We don't ask for your name or email — please don't put personal details in the message.
3. Searches
To improve site search, we store the words searched, the language and how many results were found. This is not linked to you.
4. Stored on your device
Some preferences stay in your browser and are never sent to us: light/dark mode, your cookie choice, whether you've seen the first-visit guide, your recent searches, and which pages you've already voted on. Clearing your browser data removes them.
5. Servers and security
To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse (for example, blocking repeated form submissions), our servers and Cloudflare, our network and security provider, briefly process IP addresses.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-up.
- No ads and no advertising cookies.
- We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
Newsletter
We don't have a newsletter yet. If we start one, it will only take your email when you choose to join, you'll be able to leave at any time, and we will update this policy.
Other services
We use Google (analytics) and Cloudflare (network and security), which have their own privacy policies. The official websites we link to also have their own policies.
Children
Many of our readers are students under 18. No personal information is needed to use the site, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
How long we keep data
Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months. Vote and search statistics are kept to improve the site. Mistake reports are kept for as long as needed to fix the page.
Your choices
- Turn analytics on or off with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
- Clear your browser data to remove what's stored on your device.
- Write to us with any privacy question or request: [email protected].
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the “Last updated” date at the top will change.
